Warhammer Fantasy boardgame

 

Following in the footsteps of Condotta I've designed another game, this time based on the Old World of Warhammer. Below you will find the rulebook and all the cards and markers necessary for play.

Lizardmen: Isthmus of Lustria, Huahuan Desert, The Great Jungle, Itza. Hero: Mazdamundi

High Elves: Lothern, Avelorn, Shadowlands, Yvresse. Hero: Tyrion

Amazons (minor): Amaxon Delta

Citadel of Dusk (minor); Citadel of Dusk

Evil factions

Clan Pestilens: Forbidden Jungle, Copper desert, Culchan Plains, Headhunter's Jungle. Hero: Skrolk

Dark Elves: Naggarond, Clar Karond, Karond Kar, Doom Glades. Hero: Malekith

Vampire Coast (minor): Vampire Coast

Special rules

Lizardmen: Magical Supremacy, they can reroll a single dice per combat

High Elves: Trading empire, receive one gold for every sea territory you control

Pestilens: Spread Plague, select a territory adjacent to one of yours at the start of the turn and roll 1D6 for each marker, at 5+ it is destroyed. Also inmune to the plague card.

Dark Elves: Enslave, roll 1D6 for every destroyed enemy marker, at 5+ receive one gold

Fortess Gates: any army defending Averlorn from an attack coming from the Shadowlands counts as being equipped with the forteess card (only killed at 6+)

Both maps connect by the shared sea territory "the Great Ocean"

Markers

New cards

Winter cards don't affect Lustria

Lustria: all territories south of the Isthmus (including it)

Stalingrad: the surrender of 6th army

Last game of the Stalingrad campaign is a russian push against the few sectors of the city still in german hands, with all hope of rescue lost the nazis dig their heels and prepare for their last stand

The russians start coming bit by bit into the table led by the T-34

The soviet infantry enters straight into cover, but their objective is a set of three markers deep in enemy lines, a hard fight will be necessary to rech them!

The conscripts march recklessly into open ground and suffer for it

A formidable german fire base unleashes hell into the red horde

But the valiant soldiers of the Red Army attack undaunted and rout the first unit of fascists

Hurrah!

More and more russians join the fight, and their massed fire starts to tell on the entrenched germans

The T-34 is stunned by enemy fire, but the crew recovers fast and plunges into a risky duel with the enemy panzer IV

Sheltered by the water pipe the assault section gives covering fire 

The T-34 manages to land a telling blow immobilizing the fascist tank

But the germans still have some fight in them, and blow up the russian vehicle with their antitank gun

But such small victory matters little by now, the russians have reached the enemy lines and they're all set to take control of the objectives

The last action of the days sees a group of soviets attack fruitlessly the panzer with molotov cocktails, contesting the objective while they are it

In the german HQ the assault section has managed to grab another objective after clearing the ruin of nazi snipers and officers

And in the center the soviet officer lands another objective, giving victory to the reds 2-0

Operation Uranus

 

With the germans defeated it's time for the great soviet counterattack, a two pronged offensive against the rearguard of the sixth army that if victorious will leave the nazis isolated inside Stalingrad

The russians start arriving into the battlefield, and hug the cover under heavy fire

Bit by bit the Red Army comes into play and the big push begins amongst the first snow of winter

The germans are heavily entrenched

But the soviets have luck on their side and a magnificent shot of the antitank rifle immobilizes the panzer IV

Wave after wave of russians move towards the fascist foe, taking cover amongst the boulders

The panzer is finally killed by the T-34

While the veterans finish off the germans in the left

A valiant conscript charge dislodges the enemy from the central ruin

And pinned against the table edge the germans lose unit after unit

Soviet snipers prove again their worth

By killing the enemy commander with a single shot

A lone german manages to stay alive somehow espite the red tide washing over his position

But the day is won and the CCCP has managed to encircle the fascist forces beaten up inside Stalingrad. Keep in touch for the final game coming this week.
