Against the easterlings

1248 TA a force of Gondor invades the easterling lands to put an end to their raids upon the lands of that southern kingdom.
 King of Gondor plus knights
 Vs easterlings and southrons

 Some foot gondorian troops too
The darkness forces moved straight away against the knights, separated as they were from the rest
 Inevitable surrounding
 And butchery

 To the king!
 But too late
Now Sauron's minions engaged the second force

And light conceded

My father disliked the rules as always so now I'm on the hunt for a new rulebook: dragon rampant and song of blades and heroes are the most likely candidates. If you know of others, feel free to post them in the comments.

Purging of Cthonia

This time went over to Mark's place for the second battle of the campaign, I decided to attack the mines of the planet Cthonia.
First time making smoke with photoshop, hope you like it.
Zone mortalis with new terrain: columns, machinery and stalagmites made with an amalgame of tablet tubes, food containers, sand, insulation board and plastic sheet for the bases. The containers were lent by Oriol, painted in bright colours since he is a nostalgic of citadel's red age.
I brought my trusty Blood Angels divided in two, inferno mortitat deployed and termies in reserve
Baptism of fire for my Sons of Horus, another unit of vets was in reserve

BaC cataphractii ready to defend their home...
SoH got first turn and moved behind cover
The mortitat used his phase walker to jump in front of the surprised termies only to kill just one. Really? so much hype  with the new rules and all for nothing
Of course the termies minced him in the next turn, disappointing.

My reserve came in, divided due to lack of space
The round base is an automated gun for which we didn't have model (yet!)

The termis made short work of their hated cousins
While Licinius, equipped with the new perdition blade, killed an entire unit of vets on his own, impressive!

The SoH delegatus was isolated by the terrain and swiftly killed, but not before taking one of his enemies with him first
Licinius tried to repeat his exploit but was killed by the vets with sniper rule
Argh! I can still win this
My termies killed the gun servitor, wary of the vets now
Last turn standoff, will the vets kill the last blood angels and secure a draw?
Nope, Loyalist victory altough one in extremis
With one planet returned to the imperial fold it was time to upgrade the campaign map, the Warmaster is gonna be furious about this!

Friedland 1807

In this battle Napoleon has baited the russians of Bennigsen with Lannes's corps to make them cross the river and then fall upon them with overwhelming reinforcements
The french move onwards their guns while the infantry awaits reinforcements
 Recieving the first reinforcements

The mounted guns are charged and withdraw
Ney's corps enters by the Sortlach wood

And then Napoleon and his guard plus more infantry, the russians are now outnoumbered
Cavalry clash in no man's land

The french assault by the left and refuse the right

French cavalry retreats with a bloody nose
The russians haven't practically moved from the Friedland-Sortlach line
French cannon bombards Friedland with canister
While cuirassiers charge in the right

The guns retreat to the other bank of the Alle
Chasseurs caving in the russian lines

 In the cavalry clash...
 ... Mortrier is killed

Poles charge the guns, wose crews'll hold miraculously for several turns

Uvarov is killed in this fight
The french lose their first (and only) unit near Friedland
The russian guard stand alone against several foes
 Light cavalry at it again
The french right now moves against the recently deployed russian guns
 Friedland under assault

The guard, charged in the flank and front, routs
The russian hussars are seemingly surrounded and destroyed
Followed by the weakened garrison of Friedland, at which point the russians concede.
A massacre! just like in real life
