Treasure island

 

As the year ends it's time to play the last games on the list. Today we've done a Manowar match with two elf fleets sailing towards the treasure buried in an island

First to land is the white fleet, that sends parties of seaguard ashore to search for loot

That is soon found when a 6 is rolled!

The eagleship soon pays for her recklessness, the enemy flagship wipes out the skeleton crew left behind and scuttles her, leaving the remaining sailors stranded ashore!

The black fleet is now without losses, and their own eagleship is sunk by massed boltleys

Finally as the black dragonship grabs the treasure from the cold, lifeless hands of the enemy, the white flagship is holed by two critical hits and destroyed sealing the game

With this third venator the jedi fleet is complete

Led by the Resolute the star destroyers are ready to take on the nefarious separatists

A miscasted model has been painted as a hulk to use as scenery or  Force forbid, a ship destroyed during the game

Charter Point

 

The federals have been finally cornered in Jacksonville, now the rebs move against Charter Point to isolate the town from the sea.

The northern fortifications look really strong

From the St Johns river a federal gunboat gives covering fire

Man the guns men!

Successive waves of confederates will attack the entrenchments

The reels lose no time, and close speedily on the enemy line

A deadly firefight erupts on the wood in the federal right

Under sustained fire, some southerners flee, but there are always more

Led by their colonel, a second and third waves of greycoats march towards the foe

A crashing volley erases half the federal unit

And a charge wipes out the remains

In the center a lone rebel unit snipes out yanks with aimed volleys

 

One of the respawned units fires on the gunboat

Killing two sailors by rolling double six twice!

In the other side of the battlefield, the confederates have taken two objectives

Skirting the riverside bombardment, more rebels march into the field

A valiant charge clears yet another redoubt of defenders

Winning the day

Albeit loosely based on the city class ironclads, the gunboat ended up looking like the CSS Arkansas

Battle of Maxville

 

The Confederacy is on the rise, after routing the thieving linconites, the greycoats clash against the federal forces in a pitched battle. Victory will see the invaders confined to Jacksonville, while defeat will give the enemy wide access to northeastern Florida

The rebels fire on the yankees, depleting their units and pushing them back

The first turn sees both battlelines engaged in a lively shootout

The first federals start to flee the battlefield, shameful display!

Heartened by the huge casualties inflicted, Jhonny Reb starts to move forwards

Utterly devastated by the superior enemy fire the northern forces sound the retreat

Tons of dead bluebellies for a platry confederate loss

9th

 

Got my first game of 9th edition the other day, a simple 50pl bash, pitting the ghastly World Eaters against the glorious knight of Cervaria

Baddies got fitst turn, nuking an armiger with the fellblade

Next turn my lancer slams into the badly damaged tank, leaving it with only 3 wounds remaining

The remaining armiger performs apallingly bad versus the surviving predator

The fellblade falls back while the marines prepare to charge

Shooting takes out most wounds from the towering knight, but it has enough strength left to step gingerly on the poor enemy warlord, that is crushed to a paste

In my second turn, the rest of the foes is wiped out, the crusader blows up the fellblade, and the armigar finishes off the predator

All in all 9th seems to be the edition of tanks and vehicles
