GK rebasing & scars

I've made some of my signature cork&volcanic sand bases for these old grey knights. They were some of the first 40k minis I painted (my eyes!), instead of repainting them I just added some highlights, did the shields and the parchements. The bases were god awful so they were in need of a full remake; that way they also fit with the rest of my marine/custodes collection.
Funnily enough these are some (the only?) of the models that costed more back in the day (50eur) than nowadays (35). Since GW separated all the inquisitoriall sutff from GK in order to sell twice the codexs and earn twice the money I'm thinking into getting a box of the newer plastics to get a more rounded up army (and some nice ingame benefits).

 Don't look into their eyes...

 Muh mystical doddle

I've also done these white scars bikes that had been lying in the ole pile o' shame for several years

Brooder frontier infantry

The Brooder regiment was recruited in Croatia which at the time was on the empire's frontier with the ottoman turks, these guys were veterans of the wars against the bashi bazouks and ingame have greater combat stats. I picked this uniform because the red cuffs contrast nicely with the grenzer  trousers, the yellow of the berskin and laces also complements the blue nicely.

Merrin's Farm

With a the Agrology safely in the Loyalist's hands pinceps seniores Pentecost of the Legio Metalica led his engines in defence of the contested zones of the planet, his battlegroup was vital in the defence of the western expanse during the battle at Merrin's Farm.
From de belli titanorum
We used the secret deploment map for this game, Loyalist objective was to destroy the enemy whereas the traitors had to extract a cargo offboard by the enemy edge.
Both sides traded shots at long distance, then Imperius Galgamech outflanked, pouncing upon the enemy command titan's unpotected rear. The megabolter caused two damage at the torso then the wrecking ball the location and smashed the reactor core.
With the princeps senoires out of the picture the cargo fell to the ground, the rest of Mortis moved either to engage the newcomer or flee faway
But while her shields held, Galgamech killed another foe with her trusty demolition implement
The striken engine truned around in her death throes, firing for the last time against the killer
Beset by the enemy Galgamech lost all her shields
The rest of the battlegroup helped as best they could firing into the attacking traitors
Both engines traded shots, ending badly mauled
From their positions around the farm, the Metalica engines blast away with all their might
Finally, Galgamech's megabolter destroyed the torso of her third victim
The last traitor attacks Galgamech and she goes down in glorious martyrdom.
It was the last turn of the battle and the horusians lost 45 to 5.

Lindenau infanterie

Painted another unit of austrians, only two left to complete the army. These have the light blue facings of Lindenau regiment wich combine nicely with the red, green and pink of the rest.

 I've also done a general

Regiment Ferdinand of Wurtemberg and general

Plowing on with the napoleonics I've painted this regiment of kasierlichs. Since the austrians had a, less tan manly, behaviour during the napoleonic wars (surrendering en masse, losing wars, fleeing, asking for truce...), I went for the effeminate pink facings of Ferdinand von Wurtemberg's regiment.

Any kaiserlich needs a general to boss him around
Note the FII (emperor Franz II) in the saddle, a detalied sculpt!

Docks of Sigmarheim

 Geheimnisnacht 2018IC
Once again the night of the witch is upon us, once again the terrors the we keep barely at bay resurface to terrorise His realm. But tonight it will be different, tonight we will catch the Undying and his band of abominations as they try to embark on one of the ships moored at the harbour of Sigmarheim and end his corrupt existence once and for all. He has led us on a long chase through all of the Empire, but I swear by lord Sigmar that his heinous crimes come to an end tonight.
From the journal of Mathias Kramer, witch hunter captain
I deployed my faithful followers near the Sea of Claws harbour, the undead spawn would have to cover a long distance to get to their ships
Soon we heard the dragging of feet and their bestial howls
Full of hubris as he was, the Undying led from the front of a ghoul pack
My men soon formed a barrier before him
Me and my fellow hunters kept a barrage of shafts that caused little hurt in the dark of night
Intoning anthems to the patron of the Empire, zealots and flagellans fell upon the cannibal scum
Cleansing them in the name of Sigmar
And praise be, only two remained
A horrendous, degenerate female was the last one standing
With a savage leap she jumped on one of my flagellants, killing him outright
However the Undying had seen enough, and after witnessing the death of his followers, the craven creature vanished into the night. The hunt goes on, a reckoning sure to come...
