The liberation of Hergig

 

With the Storm of Chaos engulfing the Empire Karl Franz takes the lead and attacks the hordes of chaos in Hergig, besieging the fallen capital of Hochland with the army of Altdorf

First breach is made in the fortress gate, broken in with massed cannon fire

The rest of the imperial army moves to the assault covered by this bombardment

While the chaos warriors cower behind the walls

Atop Deathclaw the Emperor jumps the walls and disembowels a chaos champion

Smashing next into the chosen unit

The Carroburg greatswords push the tower into the wall

While their liege is having a field day beheading followers of the dark gods with the Reikland runefang

Terrified by the bloodthirsty Emperor the chaos warriors reform and retreat

While on the walls the regiment of Khorne keeps the greatswords in a stalemate

But by then the imperial bombardment has taken its toll on the fortress, taring down a section of wall and opening the way for the halberdiers

Who seize two sections of  the city with help from the Bögenhafen swordsmen

Not even the explosion of one greatcannon can turn the tide

Sandwitching Karl and the tank the cowardly regiment of warriors 

And forcing them from the table

In just five turn the bulk of the chaos forces have been annihilated and the city of Hergig falls back in imperial hands
