Waterloo refight

After coming back from a short trip to Brussels and visiting the battlefield we've played the wargame with me taking command of the french for a change. Victory points for this game were awarded thus: one for each unit killed and another for each village/farm held at the end of the battle
The french launch a decisive attack before Blücher's prussians can come to the aid of the beleguarded anglodutch forces
The right flank remains quiet, waiting for the incoming foe
"We'll begin our attack there, at la Haye Sainte"
Jerome's forces probe the defences of Hugoumont
While the cavalry clashes in the Haye-Hugoumont gap
Both sides would be mauled in this bitter combat
Volleys of musket an grapeshot fly in the orchad
Old Guard and line infantry march to the farm
Cuirassiers reform in line to meet the scots greys and screen the infantry advance

 Altough the Gardes fail spectacularly
The ligne carries the day (as always)
 The scots rout the cuirassiers
While the Prince of  Orange is killed at la Haye (a figure in green armed with a baker rifle was seen leaving hastily the scene of the battle)
The heavy cavalry then runs over the great battery
Wellington is wounded at the head of such glorious charge
The french are repulsed from Hugoumont
The Old Guard marches under heavy fire
Jerome forms his men in a gunline to keep the brits corralled
Aftert their lackluster performance the Garde redeems themselves by routing the british guards
It's now 16.30 and the prussians come into the field
"Rise high our black flags my children, no pity"
The garrison of Hugoumont retreats back to the ridge
The scots charge a french column
 That smoothly forms into square
After recovering from their wounds the chasseurs charge the guns
The Garde falls back to la Haye to regroup
Brits milling around in the left
The allies from massive columns heading to la Haye Sainte
The scots are caught in a deadly crossfire and routed
 Chasseurs cut down Mercer's troop

In Plancenoit the Jeune Garde make a sortie to charge the nearby guns
More allied cavalry crashes into the square
D'Erlon is killed inside the square
After sustaining repeated volleys of grape the Guard finally breaks
The young guard meanwhile destroys the prussian artillery
The french dragoons rout the british hussars
Jerome has moved his men to Hugoumont under artillery cover
Threatened by the prussian hussars the young guard forms a square
At this point we ran out of time, and the imperials have achieved a decisive victory
Overview a the end: the allies are confined to a lone outpost at Hugoumont with most of their forces concentrated right of  la Haye sainte
 Hugoumont remains in allied hands
But la Haye Sainte belongs to the french
As does la Belle Alliance.
After a brief recount Napoleon wins the battle 8-4
The allies begin their weary retreat along the Chausée de Bruxelles
While l'Empereur and his troops rejoice at the unexpected victory!
