Wasteland Workshop: Necromunda war rig

Fury Road was IMO the best movie of 2015, and I always wanted to pay it a little homage in my wargames. Back then I wasn't in the necro scene yet, but I painted a bunch of epic battlewagons in the colours of the war boys. This year a new George Miller movie is coming out, and I felt that it was time to get my very own war rig, to die historic in the Ash Wastes.

The model itself is made from an imperial guard taurox and a munitorum container, with 3D printed wheels and undercarriage. The rear turret is made from a spare taurox bit and a proteus lascannon

This is also my first magnetized model, with no less than eight 3x 10mm magnets holding the container and lascannon turret in place, this way I can remove them to use as scenery

Without the container the locomotive can be used as a regular taurox or even an arbites riot wagon, I'm thinking on adding some rockets to the back to make it a katiusha-like manticore for 40K

The front gun can also be swapped for a multi laser, that can be played as a mining laser using the Necromunda 17 rulebook

The back of the cab was covered up with a cardboard panel, heavily detailed with a shotgun, a water tank and other bits and bobs essential for those long desert rides

I painted the crewmen in a judge dredd uniform like my arbites

The Hall of Ancestors

 

Hear now yea faithful the deeds of Klovis, Redeemer of Necromunda and punisher of  deviation!

It was he, most blessed among men, who led us to victory on the Temenos Crusade, a holy march through the ash wastes that culminated with the awakening of the Lost Saint, and the fall of the corrupt house of Helmawr as planetary overlords!

After such a glorious triumph the erstwhile imperial house scattered to the toxic winds fleeing our holy wrath, and the forces of the Redemption launched a righteous pursuit that saw the heretics scourged on the deeps below hive Secundus

The vile eschers had spread their vile poisons and heinous chems on the innocent populace of that sunken nexus of industry...

Such cancerous growth on the body of Necromunda couldn't be left to fester, and as ever blessed Klovis was ready to smite the heretics with the full force of the Emperor's wrath

And so advanced the ranks of the faithful, with guns blazing and a prayer on their lips

The spineless eschers hid their corrupt bodes behind pipes and machinery, springing a cowardly ambush that felled brother Kiodrus

But by such vile trick was their presence revealed, and the flamers of the crusade engulfed the sinners with the righteous heat of purification, praise be!

The Redeemer spearheaded the assault, burning the enemy demagogue to a crisp with the Sword of Purification, but he in turn was brought low by enemy fire

But the Master of Mankind was watching that day over his chosen paladin, and the offending weapon exploded in a miraculous fireball, a most fitting punishment for such unforgivable sin

While my mentor was taken off the field I continued with his ingenious plan, launching a right flank attack with the bulk of the crusade that soon saw the eschers lose hear and rout

Leaving the Hall of Ancestors firmly in the hands of the Redemption

Zombiecide miniatures

 

I've been a bit busy lately painting these  fellows from the Zombiecide board game. Although I've never played it these models are quite beautiful and detailed, with a wide range of armament and personalities varying from hulking zombie bosses to deceptively innocent looking children.

Omaha Beach

 

I've been a bit out of the gaming scene due to having both my parents at hospital, but with them well and back home I'm posting the report of a Normandy refight we played with my dad.

The scenario was Bunker Assault from the warlord games webpage, pitting an elite wave of american ranger against a motley crew of nazi defenders

First into the beach is a veteran Sherman

Who immobilizes a shaken Panzer IV still reeling from the navy's barrage

The rangers begin to land coming under immediate fire

¡Achtung, die amerikaner sind hier!

But the enemy fire does little to the elite GIs, who storm the first bunker killing the enemy officer

More ranger begin the advance by the right while the sniper team takes position

The germans fail to activate

And are wiped out. First bunker taken, two to go

The sniper takes his first victim with a single shot: a german armed with an MG42

But then the air strike falls on american lines killing the spotter with friendly fire!

Full advance with time running out

While the panzer IV is blown up by an AP shell

Second bunker is taken without a fuss

And now only the last german bastion remains

But is swiftly taken by the elite rangers

With it's fall the beach is cleared of nazis and the push on Paris can begin!

Cyclops: cyberpunk ganger

 

The last model of 2023 was this flashy futurist character, a chiped-up fellow that epitomizes the "style over substance" outlook of the cyberpunk universe. The model is again from Papsikles and will be used as a rockerboy for one of the players of my campaign.
