Battle for Infernus & Hades

With the boys I've recently started a 40k campaign based in Armageddon. In our first game the adeptus custodes attacked Infernus hive, controlled by a renegade knight house of the adeptus mechanicus

With both sides deployed on opposing corners the custodes got first turn

Killing an enemy armiger with concentrated firepower

The knights answered taking over some objectives
And blowing the caladius up, who suffered from the fresh painted model syndrome
Then the reserves finally arrived
And the custodians made their first charges taking down a crusader knight

A desperate salvo failed to kill the newcome land raider in the knights turn
But a cerastus lancer freshly arrived from reserves killed a pair of aquilon terminators
Yet another armiger fell to the warden's axes

And the game ended with a slight victory for the custodes 21 to 15 points
The second game played just yesterday was against the imperial guard, a classic steel legion army full of armoured fist squads with leman russes in tow attacking the ruins of Hades Hive
Undetered by the mass of enemy combatants the custodians moved swiftly as the eagle and blew a basilisk while bringing the tank commander to half an inch of death

The guard answered in king, but a combination of strong saves and strats meant just one biker died
On turn 2 the massed custodian reserved teleported into the battlefield
Taking over yet more objectives
And wiping out all russes
Even the blade champion pitched in, chopping up a chimera with the rendax ka'tah

Turn 2 of the guard meant that their reserves also got to the battlefield, but again the golden plate of the custodians prevented them from suffering any telling losses

The battle ended thus in a far easier victory for the custodes, 30-5 this time round
