Vraks: the Kagori Offensive

The Kagori Offensive: after years of stalemate on the Vaks front, the imperials have managed to gather enough forces for the big push, with help from Legio Astorum, the kriegers launch an all out attack.

The guardsmen go once more over the top, over their heads the massive reavers and warhounds of the Legio duel with their heretic counterparts
No man's land is filled with the carcasses of destroyed tanks, but the imperial forces push on
The traitor stormblades are wiped out by the armoured company before getting to fire a single shot
The warhound maniple closes with the trenchline on the right
Two reavers advance behind a tank screen, while in the center a lone engine charges valiantly
Traitors Russes attack the warhound in a death or glory moment, but are anihilated by plasma fire
The heretic warhound is also killed by a single pinpoint turbolaser shot to the chest
Not all goes well for the imperials, and the central bait reaver is killed
The warhounds outflank the big warlord and shot it to bits
The last remaining heretic engine returns fire, but it's too late, the imperials have already taken two of the three objectives, and broken through the defence line

Vraksian renegades

Chaos tanks galore! In order to refight the Vraks campaign I needed some baddies, so I lost no time in painting the rest of the Vanguard vehicles in the iconic mustard browns of the renegade army

The vast stockpiles of the traitor planet included many artillery pieces such as these

Two stormblades round up the force

Death Korps of Krieg

In Life War, In Death Peace

In life Shame, in Death Atonement

Motto of the Death Korps

I've wanted to have a Krieg army since reading the Vraks books, the Forgeworld models are way too expensive for me, but luckily Vanguard makes an excellent line of microtanks ideal for Titanicus/Epic
The first models are superheavy Shadowsword tanks

The set comes with extra weapons so they can be turned into Stormblades!

Next we have an armoured company made up of 10 Leman Russ

The captain rides in a Vanquisher

Of course no Krieg army is complete without a battery of siege guns

Malevolence

The Malevolence was the biggest ship in the CIS nav. Built by separatist quarren, she became general Grievous flagship, destroying numerous republic fleets and even attacking defenceless medical convoys. Her despicabl reign of terror would end in a daring campaign led by jedi knights Kenobi and Skywalker. First Anakin and his padawan, Ahsoka, destroyed the massive Ion Cannon in a bombing run.  Afterwards, with the crippled ship fleeing from a new republic fleet, the jedi would board her and reprogram the hyperspace computer to direct her into a nearby moon. While Kenobi and Grievous duelled on the internal shuttle train system, the droids managed to repair the hyperdrive, unwittingly crashing the massive dreadnought into the moon. Grievous escaped as always, and Anakin rescued Padme (who was held hostage in the ship thanks to a Palpatine plot to protect the ship).
Despite her massive size of 4.8 km the Malevolence was faster than venator cruisers, her hyperdirve however was somewhat slower
The main armament of the ship was a pair of Heavy Ion Cannons that could disable entire fleets with one shot, however they proved vulnerable to torpedo attacks
The shark-like prow mounted dozens of turbolaser batteries and proton torpedo launchers
The ship showed up on the first season of the Clone Wars series, episodes 2-4
According to the wookiepedia four more vessels of the same class were built, one with a frontal supergun instead of the ion cannons

Battle for Terminus

Superweapons! Unwilling to let go of the vital Terminus system, Grievous has gathered another fleet, taking command of the formidable battleship Malevolence, he launches a counter invasion to retake the planet from the Republic. Only the Pride of the Core and her attendant fleet stand in the way of separatist domination!
Both fleets adavance stately, the republic cruisers are the first to fire, their shots splattering harmlessly on the enemy shields
The mandator is far more effective, crippling a providence destroyer with her first salvo
Y wings from the dreadnought leave the carrier at the edge of death
A separatist bombing run is seen off by the Pride's turrets
Next turn, the mandator finishes off the providence with a turbolaser volley
The venators close the range, their coordinated fire damaging both enemy ships. All the while teams of clone troopers disembark from LAAT gunships, crippling the Malevolence's weapon systems
On the other side of the battlefield, a lone munificent recieves the unwelcome attentions of the Y wings
Ravaged by turbolaser fire, the second providence is destroyed by massed bomber waves
Turbolasers, proton torpedoes and bombs rip the Malevolence apart
But instead of standing his ground, the cowardly Grievous engages the hyperspace engines
And disengages from the battle!
The frigate quits also, leaving Terminus in Republic hands
