The defence of Deimos

 

Chaos resurgent: the forces of the Warmaster take the initiative and attack the forgeworld of Deimos Binary, defended by an impenetrable blockade of imperial vessels

Led by the Eternal Crusader, the Black Templars give no ground

While the Gloriana moves forwards the strike cruisers hide in an asteroid field, waiting for the enemy to come within range of their weapons

Boarding torpedoes soon set an enemy cruiser on fire

Hanging in Deimos' orbit, a dominator cruiser has found the range for her nova cannon, and an awesome explosion rocks the heretical vessel

The chaos hulk and the rest of the fleet weather some long ranged firepower, losing most of their boarding claws to the templar thunderhawks

A second nova shot guts the cruiser for good 

The wreck is fired upon by the Crusader, exploding in an inmense fireball

By now the smaller imperial warships have come out of cover, concentrating all firepower on another devastation cruiser

Removing her from the game

The hulk gets her back on the strike cruisers, destroying one with bombs, lances and assault claws

 

The ship blows up, showering debris on friend and foe alike

The remaining attack cruisers skirt around the massive rock, deploying on its more vulnerable rear

Crippled, one opts for disengaging and jumps into the warp

Undaunted by the losses, the Crusader burns full retros and smashes into the hulk, causing tons of damage and taking none thanks to her armoured prow

The hulk is brought to half damage soon after, and the game ends in a well fought imperial victory

Helbrecht

 

Papa templar's model was too good to pass up, so I got one and duly painted it. I dreaded doing the white cross pattern, but it turned out to be quite entertaining in the end. I'm unconvinced about the blood on his sword, might repaint it some day

Battle for Gulag 22

 

Retake the prison world! With all chaos forces sweeped clean from orbit, the imperial forces invade Vorga Torq led by the fulgurant warriors of the Adeptus Custodes

Sisters of Silence and Custodians join forces against the heretics

The auxilia imperial knight opens the ball

Then more golden paladins teleport into the battlefield

The biker captain zooms over the struggle

And crashes into the foe

Khârn is slaughtered again, this time by a sentinel squad

Some demons pop up into existence

But a bit too late, the chaos lord is speared...

... and the sorcerer cut to bloody pieces

Another victory for the Imperium

Sword Brethren

 

When the bladeguard models were released I knew that I had to get some, and after placing an order online they have arrived. I decided to paint them as Black Templar Sword Brothers, the elite troops of the chapter and the Marshal's personal household troops

With 3 W 2+/4++ each they are quite tanky, and with their D2 power swords they hit like a ton of bricks. The main problem is to get them in combat, something not that easy without an impulsor

Mature Ahsoka

 

Ahsoka showed up again in the Boba Fett series so I decided to start the original trilogy star wars project with her. Since her mandalorian outfit is more contemporary with Luke and co than the Rebels suit I went with that rendition for the galaxy's best girl. 

Since she is mostly black samuraiesque dress painting was pretty quick

The coming of the Crusader

 

After some further turns of manoeuvring another naval battle erupts over the penal world of Vorga Torq

The massive Eternal Crusader has arrived to bring the Templars to victory

The battle begins with all imperial vessels firing on the Planet Killer

Lowering her shields, and almost crippling the heretic vessel with a single salvo

Next turn both flagships come side to side, while in the background the smaller templar ships engage a devastation class cruiser

After weathering two turns of lethal fire it is a massive wave of thunderhawks that finishes off the world anihilator

Leaving her a burning hulk

With that battle comes to an end

And the templars claim orbit over the embattled world
