Third (and final) siege of Pouia

With the voidspace secure the imperial forces land once more on the Pouia hiveworld to expell the chaos armies occupying it.
The space wolves long fangs drop in front of the titan, one squad is swallowed by the toxic mud however.
The wolves rapidly strip the warlord of its void shields, and a well placed vortex missile sents it to the hell that spawned it.
With no enemies in sight the titans form back to bak while the wolves secure an objective
But the chaos reinforcements aren't slow to appear, another warlord moves from one edge and inflicts some damage on one of the Legio Metalica engines
While the chaos infantry approaches the long fangs
Both imperial engines concentrate their energy cannons and batteries on the Mortis titan...
 Reducing it to scrap
The two space marine companies engage in a shootout
But as the imperial titans wheel round their fate is sealed
And are reduced below half strength, giving victory (and the planet) to His armies!
Actualized camapign map showing the next target of the chaos player: the mining world Costia X, the major producer of promethium of the sector wich will be dutifully defended by the imperial navy.

Convoy x41

The Metalica campaign

Continuing with the Metalica campaign, the chaos fleet attempts to smuggle a convoy full of bombers into the hiveworld to establish an aerial base there, if two transports manage to deliver their load, the space in the system will become extremelly dangerous to the imperial fleet and will force it to retreat.

Convoy scenario, the imperials deploy with hidden markers (white squares) while the chaos space hulk ad the transports it  escorts move from the opposite board edge from the planet. Beween the planet and the hulk there are several gas clouds, an asteroid field and its two moons Castor (Jungle) and Pollux (airless).
The first imperials to uncover themselves are a squadron of sword frigates
 Who attack unsucessfuly a transport.
The hulk moves in to kill the imperial annoyance with guns and bombers

A new imperial cruiser appears, but fails to down a transport with his nova cannon.
In the next turn it moves to fire with both broadsides locking on, giving a big scratch to the hulk but failing to kill the transport due to its small size.
Another imperial cruiser powers up in the left deploying a bomber wave and torpedoes

The hulk now unleashes its full complement of bombers and guns on the dominator cruiser who survives miraculously with only one damage left!
Another wave moves against the other cruiser
But the navy is not yet out of surprises, another cruiser appears in the screens of the chaos captains blocking the way around the planet's right.
 Reveeenge!
 Transport destroyed captain!
The bombers first launched by the left cruiser destroy yet another transport
A transport tries to run from the cruiser that he has in front
Using the gravitatory pull of Castor to turn round
 Now just two transports remain
The chaos admiral (finally) gives fighter cover to one transport
While battering a cruiser with gun and bomber, who survives thanks to bracing
Two lone bomber squadrons launch a raid on the dominator but surprisingly don't cause any damage
A cruiser fails to kill the left transport due to his guns running low on power after the bracing
But a wave of bombers closes into the one on the right
Who kill it, winning the day for the imperial navy and kicking the chaos vessels out from the system.

The shadow of the Warmaster or the light of the Emperor, wich will you choose?

Today I got finally the crusade army list from Forgeworld. For the same price as a standard codex you get both the army and superheavies rules unlike in 40k, thanks FW!

Abba termies

Working towards the completion of my vow in the bolter and chainsword I've finished converting 40k terminators into heresy ones. It has also been the first time that I've stripped paint from plastic miniatures: if you leave the piece under 95ยบ alcohol overnight, the next day the paint will be easy to remove using a toothbrush, there will be some paint left in the small clefts tough, but overall it works well enough. I also bought a plank of cork to replicate the asphalt of an urban environment in the bases.
The complete vow, to be painted before the 31st of May. Some flowers too

Behind Sanguinius you can see heresy-era terminators second the card game.

Second siege of Pouia

"As the imperial navy thightened more and more the noose around the hiveworld of Pouia, the inexhaustible armies of His servants landed once more on its barren surface in a second attempt to reconquer what had once been one of the major industrial hubs of all the subsector -only behind Metalica itself-, and now  little more than a nest of chaos worshippers and their tyrannical masters. Thus the second siege of Pouia began..."
The new campaign map with the disposition of the forces, the imperium based in the forgeworld controls the space above Metalica and Pouia while the chaos is confined to the hiveworld and its twin moons.
The scenario rolled was blitzkrieg with chaos as the defender.

The forces:

Imperium:
Two warlord titans Galgamech and Quintus
4 squads of devastators+command
(space wolf company of Harald Deathwolf)

Chaos:
Two warlord titants Bodil and Calvaria
8 squads of chaos marines+command
Only one chaos detachment deploys in the table, while all the imperials are present (with the marines deploying via drop pod). The objective is to reduce the enemy to half strength before turn 6, if not, wins whoever controls more objectives (black stones).
Chaos got first turn and seized one objective
The warlords moved into cover behind fuel silos
Khorne's speed! The chaos player rolls remarcably well and all his reinforcements appear, flanking the imperials.

 The marines lower the shields
And two vortex missiles finish off Imperius Galgamech, blowing up the silo wich it was using for cover too!

Two bases of marines die as the reactor goes nova
Chaos engines move onwards savouring the kill
Our turn lads! the space wolves deploy via drop pod in true 3d edition fashion
Two fall over the board and are lost, something that at the moment seemed unremarkable but wich was to have dire consequences for the imperials. Be always sure to drop away from the table edges!
Some missiles cause damage in Calvaria
The imperials begin their revenge with a missile barrage from the warlord's carapace launchers

  Eat missiles chaos filth!

Calvaria moves on and strips five damage point from Quintus with the remaining vortex missile, while the critical hit head damaged will immobilize it for the remainder of the game
 Enemy in sight princeps!
Caught between devastators and Quintus the chaos titan is blown to pieces.
His comrade moves away from the space wolves
Blood for the blood god! the maddended kronate marines charge the warlord.
While Bodil kills one unit with his heavy weapons battery
While unsurprisingly losing the combat, the chaos marines manage to cause one damage rolling a 6 lowering the titan to half his damage points, now only the devastators remain. Never ignore infantry as the saying says.

The imperials tried to outrun the chaos engine but were put below half strength by volcano cannon fire, thus losing the battle.
Another unsucessful attempt to reconquer Pouia, time to retreat to the ships again!
