Blood Bowl by the pool

Since the summer is already here and the heat begins to tell, I decided to invite two of my friends with their wives and children to the comunitary pool, and why not play a bit of blood bowl meanwhile?

Both of them are coaches in our ongoing kislev cup and today, they played the first half of the match that their teams had to play in order to classify for the final.

So after a refreshing bath both coaches took hold of their teams and the game began, pinxapinyes lizardmen against necrofila undeads!
The lizardmen got the initiative and one of their skinks rapidly claimed the ball
Trying to slip it across the zombieline
The rightmost zombie is knoked down
In the undead turn, a ghoul tries to make a penetration against the skink with the ball but fails akwardly wit a skull in the tackle dice, losing the turn to the other team
However, the lizardmen also waste their chance trying to dodge across a zombie and falling to the floor after bad dice rolls
Owning the initiative again, the undead pick the ball with a ghoul and move backwards
Making a surprising move when passing the ball to a lone ghoul  near the middleline!
The lizardmen hastily try to form a barrier before so sudden danger
A vicious hand to hand erupts around him, but again a trip ends the turn for the lizardmen, with a saurus bitting the dust this time
With the path open, the ghoul sprints towards the touchdown line
But two skinks quickly sorround and overpower him with shameless abuse, althought the ghouls is thrown into the public, he manages to survive their kind "attentions"
A saurus makes a foul, but the always vigilant refree quickly expells him from the field
The undead launch a counter attack that inhabilits the skinks, while in the center the tackle continues endelssly
But the lizardmen coach reacts rapidly with two of his saurians that smash a zombie to pieces
One of the skinks dodges the ghoul, picks the ball and...
Makes the signature move of coach Costa, a long throw into the enemy pitch!
A ghoul runs towards the ball, seeing that he cannot reach it, he makes and agility roll to move extra squares, but trips and falls, losing the turn
In the lizardmen last turn, a skink quickly slips trough the undead net, but is too short from the ball making it impossible for the lizardmen to score in this half
Since he cannot score, their coach intends to inflict the maximum damage to his opponent with numerous tackles and fouls that do not cause many injuries in fact
In the last undead turn, the ghoul next to the ball rises and tries to dodge the skink's control zzone, but fails and with his fall to the ground end the first half.
In the above image you can see that with a bit of luck he could have piked up the ball, thrown it to the other ghoul deep inside the lizardmen's pitch and score, but the dice didn't smile on him.
A view of the undead sideline at the end of the first half, full of inconscious players and even a zombie expelled from the field by the ref, however, their regeneration abilities will help them to refill their losses quickly
The lizardmen's is far emptier by far (thanks to the S4 of their sauruses of course), but one of their players has also been expelled and won't take part in the next half.

New additions to blood bowl teams

Our first newcomer is Maya, a skink shamanic healer that serves as the apotecary for the Pinxapinyes lizardmen team.

I made him beginning from a skink. I added a staff made with a knightly order spear, two saurus shields and two saurus weapons, on one side I putted an axe from a saurus, and then I added feather crown from the knightly orders (any colour resembace with some football mundial is purelly coincidential). I finished by sculpting a little vodoo doll with greenstuff for extra creepiness.

Then we have Joanot  the new blitzer for the Skarsnik boys orc team.

To make him I just chopped the weapons from an old ork dating back to the remote times when I bought the starter set for warhammer 6th edition.

Xenos hired guns

Inspired by the above illustration I give you two more agents of my xenos inquisitor: the Hrud nocturnal warrior and Y'Har the Thadiv Warrior
Hruds are a nomadic race of the warhammer 40k universe and can often be found as sellswords in the most diverse places, varying from a band of void pirates... to an inquisitorial warband!
Those who wish to know more may consult the archives of the Ordo Xenos. But beware, for no knowledge comes without its price!

Y'Har the Thadiv Warrior. After reaching his second decade as an inquisitor, Ivanov stumbled upon a clue that led him through several dark eldar cults in imperial worlds to learning of their plan to invade the unknown world of Hargana in order to activate a warp gate that would lead them to the black Libary. Upon learning of this, Ivanov decided to act inmediately, and with the support of his Harlequin allies he rushed to defend the gate. But there was a factor that none of the sides had taken into account, and that was that Hargana was already inhabited. Indeed, the thadivs were a peaceful species of xenos that lacking warp travel capacities, never bothered to come out from their native system, and thus they remained unknown to the wider galaxy. Thadiv society was articulated around  a caste of priest-kings that ruled a cluster of independent city-temples, and from the strongest denizens of their cities they choose the temple guard that defended the city with surprisingly advanced technology. The dark eldar came, but Ivanov, who had got there first, had sealed an alliance with the closest kings, and when the pirates emerged from their ships, they found rank after rank of disciplined temple guards backed up by harlequins and the inquisitor's own retinue. After the defeat of the corrupted eldars, the king-priests gave many thanks to the inquisitor for his warning and help, and upon seeing that three members of his warband layed dead, they offered him the three best warriors amongst their guard to acompany him in his never ending quest among the stars.
The thadivs hold on to many strange and peculiar beliefs, chiefly amongst them is that no one can harm any creature except at hand's reach, that obiously limits the role of Y'Har and his brothers to the hand to hand combat, but once they come to it, no enemy can survive the might of their energy coated weapons. The thadivs have served well inquisitor Ivanov for many years, and upon the death of one of them, he comes back to Hargana, and another replacement is inmediately given to him by the king-priests to maintain the original tryad and the protection of the inquisition.
Y'har is armed with a ritual axe and a powerful energy blade powered up by a back generator, the blade may be clumsy, but when it hits an enemy, the impact is so brutal that there isn't much left of  him to bury.

Incoming ampliation of Horus Heresy legions

So, the last day I bought in Ebay a nice bunch of marines at 50cents of euro each, and with them I'll complete my collection of Horus Heresy models with two armies: the traitorous Emperor's children and the loyalist Iron hands. Above you can see the mark V armour wich'll be worn by my marines, it's really easy to convert since you just need to add the reinforcing studs to the mark VII armour that all marines wear.

Nextly I give you the two armies lists counted with forgeworld's heresy books
