The Carroburg Greatswords hail from the rich province of Reikland. During the Age of the Three Emperors they defended the city of Carrobrurg from the forces of the count of Middenland, repelling all attacks during the siege and defiantly standing on the ramparts with their white uniforms drenched in blood. From that day they changed their colours to red and black to commemorate their heroic defence of the city and the humbling of a rival province
These guys are part of an Imperial comission, since Empire was my first wargaming love back in the day I've really enjoyed painting them, doing the whole unit in just two sittings
These models are from the latest iteration of greatswords, a really detailed kit, in fact every model has a different head. My only gripe is that the swords come separated in the middle of the handle and are a pain to glue exactly, they also lack armor (they have a 4+ save for Sigmar's sake!)
Choose green as spot colour
Closeups of the command group
Way over the top GW
For the musician I wanted something flashy, so I trimmed the trumpet and after some cutting and gluing now he's heroicaly stabbing a sword into the ground
When doing the flag I drew inspiration from this Luthor Huss art
The zweihander is fitted to his back with a putty strip
Très belles figurines, avec de superbes couleurs!
