Hergig besieged

 

While the torn of chaos engulfs the Empire, the hordes of chaos march against the capital of Hochland, pushing massive siege towers against the walls while a formidable hellcannon opens fire. Behind the ramparts await the crazed slayers of Karak Kadrin, decided to either defend the city or die in the attempt

Battle begins with an artillery exchange, the mercenary cannon firing from a tower only for the fortification to be torn down by the chaos hellcannon

Meanwhile the dwarf general and doomseekers have come out to play, hindering the advance of the siege towers and slaughtering some furies on the way

The chaos lord commanding the assault kills one of the crazed dervishes and urges his men on

And at last the first tower reaches the wall and the followers of the dark gods clash with the trollsalyer garrison

Three doomseekers meanwhile hold the rest of the chaos horde at bay

But while his men are slaughtered the chaos lord rushes into the tower breach

Defended by the second trollslayer unit

After a grueling fight  it is the warriors of chaos who are victorious in the wall 

While the chaos lord is bogged down in the breach by the doomseekers and pinned down outside

And with the fall of the last defender the battle ends in a close run chaos victory

Hergig has fallen to the horde of Archaon
