Surprise attack on the Hoth System

Another campaign on the roll! This time it's a Star Wars one located on the troubled Anoat sector, where the staunch imperial forces are valiantly trying to stamp out the rebel holdouts 

After one turn of land grab both sides come to blows over the forzen planet of Hoth

The imperials jump out of hyperspace and engage the rebel scum

Turbolasers and bomber waves buffet the renegade vessels, but the mon calamari crusers weather the incoming fire pretty well thanks to their shields

In the next turn the rebels come about and deploy their own ordnance screens

Severely damaging one of the imperial destroyers

Both sides engage through the asteroids fields that surround the iceball

Trading shots and bomber waves

In Hoth's orbit a lone nebulon falls prey to a squadron of TIE bombers

Two destroyers concentrate fire on a single MC80

Which is soon crippled

Some final turbolaser shots blow up the vessel

In the left the second nebulon is destroyed by the massive imperial spaceship

Now the Home One engages the destroyers

While on the other side of Hoth both warships stand off

Onece clear of the asteroid field the duel between destroyer and cruiser resumes

Ackbar and the imperials trade shots, but the massed imperial batteries prove too much for the moncalas and the rebel flagship comes out worse from the close ranged  firefight

The rebel bombers however strike back and cripple a destroyer with their ion torpedoes

Slow and ponderous, the imps use the moon's gravity weel to turn about

While the remaining destroyer pursues the last MC80

The imperials have gained the upper hand, and the rebels jump to hyperspace, clearing the orbit for the deployment of Lord Vader and the ground forces
