Battle of Torres Vedras

As we enter the winter of 1806 Ottomans and prussians join the fight: both deploy their forces on the frontier, with the germans grabbing Hannover and the turks failing to conquer Transylvania (the stakes were probably too high). The russians invaded the Ottman Empire by west and east while Kutuzov conquered Saxony, the austrians with wheir british allies invaded southern France while the french attacked Portugal and reinforced their borders. The british meanwhile deployed a sizeable army against Castilla and defended Lisbon.
Wellington is entrenched in a line of defences on Torres Vedras, barring the path to Lisbon
Earthworks and buildings defend the objective
 Ney leds the attack
The french massed their cavalry on the center and right
With most of their infantry advancing onto the objective
The light artillery decided to kamikaze down against the built up area
But soon retreated from english steel
The cavalry scrum in the right would see both sides depleted and neutralized
Ney is wounded in the cavalry scrum
 Elite grenadiers move forwards
The elite british infantry brings the pain on the enemy vanguard
Meanwhile the magnificent scots greys cut some french footsloggers to pieces
Nothing seems to stop the imperial cuirassiers

The chasseurs charge the scots, but merely bounce back
The light dragoons hold somehow, putting both units hors de combat
The dragoons flank the british riders who face about in an orderly manner
The mauled british cavalry falls back to the defences

In a daring move, the elite biritsh infantry attacks and routs the first line of invaders
Wellington is however wounded in the fight
More dragoons charge the infantry who cooly open fire and proceed to draw the combat
The french masses have displaced to the left, but the regiments there keep a lively fire
The thin red line whitstands the frog onslaught
As the last french attack is repulsed Ney sounds the retereat
 Britannia triumphans!

The french lose two units and retreat to Castilla
