The Burrowden Crusade

To the glory and praise of the Emperor and of the imperial court, and of the noble house of Cawdor, I, deacon Malakev, wish to preserve the memory of what came to pass in Necromunda through the deeds of my master, the blessed Redeemer, Klovis of glorious memory. Who led a great crusade against the deviants... to purge the planet of all heretics. And of whom it was truly said: 'prince, slow to punish quick to reward, he suffered when he was obliged to be hard.'
He it was who from the halls of the blessed Redemption led us, and the mutants and heretics fled his righteous wrath. The Burrowden, a labyrinthine expanse of the underhive had been degrading for far too long without knowledge of the blessed light of our Divine Lord, and so he declared a crusade to cleanse the place from all evil and deviancy.
Foremost of zealots, he was first to head the charge against the heathen eschers, smiting them down with the holy flame of the Sword of Persecution
I rallied our brothers on the right flank and we poured our rightful wrath into the ranks of the heretic
Rallied by the fervour of our pure messiah the brethen surged forwards, burning their blasphemous leader away with the blessed flames of redemption
Craven harridans as they were, the eschers lost heart, and began to flee at the sight of the dead arch-idolatress. Proving once again that only in the faith of our church can a man find true purpose in life, and that all other so called "causes" are a mere facade for the most base and primal urges, only fit to be put to the sword and flame by the faithful
I took careful aim with my trusty stub gun and lo behold! another of the pagans went down
Brother Neroscis was valiantly injuried while flaming down a tunnel but before the eschers had time to react, brother Deza was upon them blazing left and right
I joined him in a joyful charge into the mass of blasphemers, striking down one of the spineless cowards with a crushing blow of my axe
Not that he, most paramout of crusaders, had been idle, as another unrepentant sinner was easily dispatched by his matchless zeal
Inevitabily the enemy lost heart and turned tail, slinking back to the shadows of miscreancy, fleeing from the light of the Master of Mankind
And so Klovis gathered us for a solmen sermon to celebrate the victory, humbling us with his wisdom as he proclaimed that not to us but to the Emperor must go the glory, and that to He it was due. We were merely tools in His hands, the reward of purging the deviants from Necromunda enough in itself, since we were cursaders in a holy cause, free from the shackles that bind lesser men.
Afterwards, the Redeemer sold a captured escher to a slag pit mine so she might reflect on her life of sin and degeneracy, and atone for it with a life of hard work under the lash:
For penance without pain is no use, if it doesn't hurt, it doesn't count!
