The second siege of Brass Keep

 

The brave men of the Empire defend the Brass Keep from a horde of evil ratmen

The imperial guns roar and the first siege tower goes down in flames

From the ramparts the Altdorf arquebusiers rain death on the foe

As the second siege tower is blown apart

Things go even better for the imperials when the storm invoked by the enemy battle standard peters out, clearing the day for the guns

The hellstorm cannon takes aim and misfires, but a roll of six means that the gun fires a devastating volley that causes 30 hits on the foe

Evaporating the skaven general, banner and bodyguard unit

Undetered the rest of the ratmen march forwards

And while the handgunners die to a warp lightning the Bögenhafen swordsmen plug up the gap

It is now turn 4 and the skavenslaves storm the ramparts

Only to be hit by a comet of Cassandora, and then routed in hand to hand combat

The last skaven unit scales the walls, but after some turns of combat turns tail and flees

Leaving the Keep in the hands of its brave defenders!

Assault terminators

 

Terminators have always been a favourite unit of mine, and among all their variants the storm shield and thunder hammer variant have always had a special place. The basic kit looked a bit too simple for my tastes however, so I used grey knight helmets and sword brethren cloaks to convert this unit of assault terminators into something more knightly for my Black templars

Assault on Brass Keep

 

Following their successful defenece of Nordland the slayers of Karak Kadrin continued their winning streak with an attack on the Brass keep, a fortress on the Middle Mountains occupied by the skaven

With good look Snorri trolls rolls the dwarves rushed towards the walls

Facing the charge of some valiant skavenslaves on the way

Both slave units were promptly routed by the slayers, who then started battering down the gate

However the incoming fire took the lives of Long Drong's pirates on the way 

First to cross was a doomseeker, who reached the top of the undefended gatehouse

On the left a siege tower and another crazed slayer swept the walkway of clanrats

Pursuing them into the courtyard

While the second siege tower brought the pain to the jezzail unit

Useless during the whole game a mercenary cannon managed to snipe an engineer

With more and more dwarves crossing the walls things look bleak for the defenders

Who still charged valiantly towards the foe

But with the death of the jezzails and the rout of a unit of slaves two thirds of the Brass Keep fall into the hands of the attackers, and the siege comes to an end

Emperor's champion

Converted a primaris company champion into an emperor's champion for my Black Templar crusade. The extra bits come from grey knights and assault termimators

 

Stand at Neues Emskrak

 

Beaten at Hergig the hordes of chaos them move to Nordland attacking a dwarf throng in Neues Emskrak 

The lord of the end times, Archaon himself, leds an elite army to conquer the razed nordlander town

Leading the charge by the right while a chariot and a unit of warriors move by the left

Sadly for the followers of the dark gods a chariot is flattened by a catapult shot

Crashing its brother into the runic anvil

Slowed down by magic chasms opened by the anvil the Swords of Chaos are decimated by massed dwarf firepower

While the runelord holds on stubbornly

The Everchosen makes his first charge only to be tanked by a heroic champion and a double 1 on the demoralization roll

Thing go from bad to worse when the chariot flees trough the warriors

And the entire unit is blown to bits by an organ gun

Hammerers and warriors than gang up on Archaon

And force him to flee with some damage

The lord of the end times however rallies

And one by one kills all the dwarven characters who tank him in several challenges

Even the hellcannon is destroyed by artillery fire

Leaving the Everchosen alone and soundly defeated on the field of battle
